A meeting was held titled "Risk communication and community engagement in health emergencies: Lessons learned and future perspectives"

 

From October 10th to the 12th in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia, a meeting was held titled "Risk communication and community engagement in health emergencies: Lessons learned and future perspectives," which was jointly organized by the South Caucasus Center for Health Emergencies of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Country Office in Georgia.

In addition to the employees of the WHO Country Office for Azerbaijan, representatives of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance, TABIB, the Center for Public Health and Reforms of the Ministry of Health, the Union of Voluntary Organizations of Azerbaijan, and the "Regional Development" Public Union joined the delegation of Azerbaijan that participated in the meeting.

The Agency was represented by Aynura Ahmadova, the head of the Marketing and Public Relations Department. The members of the Azerbaijani delegation actively participated in the meeting’s effective exchange of ideas about the country's experiences and new recommendations, making presentations on the application of a multilateral approach in risk communication in the fight against COVID-19, the importance of the behavioral assessment surveys in the fight against the pandemic, the role of young people and volunteers in the fight against the pandemic, and the importance of centralized management of response measures taken by the Operational Headquarters.

It should be noted that the meeting was held as part of the EU-funded Solidarity for Health Initiative project.
