A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Agency and the SGK (Social Protection Agency)

A delegation headed by Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) carried out a working visit to Ankara, Turkey on November 8th to 10th. The purpose of the visit was to develop bilateral relations with the relevant agencies of the Republic of Turkey.

The delegation included Vugar Gurbanov, acting chairman of the Administration of Regional Medical Divisions, Rasim Hasanov, head of the Agency's Finance Department, Hikmet Ibrahimli, head of the Medical Planning Department, Ruslan Abdullayev, head of the International Relations Department, and Araz Nasirov, head of the Strategic Analysis Department.

During the visit, the delegation met with Dr. Tolga Tolunay, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Turkey, Serkan Kayalar, Chairman of the Turkish International Coordination and Development Agency, and Prof. Dr. Nejdet Unuvar, Rector of Ankara University. The meetings focused on expanding cooperation in the field of mandatory health insurance.

During the visit, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was signed between the Agency and the Social Protection Agency of the Republic of Turkey. As the signing ceremony was held on Victory Day, Jevdet Jeylan, the head of the SGK, congratulated the delegation on this occasion, expressed his condolences for the martyrs, and wished prompt recovery to the wounded.

Expressing hope for successful cooperation with Azerbaijan in the field of social security, as in other areas, Jevdet Jeylan said he was pleased to share the experience of his organization with the brotherly country.

Expressing gratitude for the excellent hospitality and the congratulations, Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the Agency, noted that the friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries had deep historical roots: “Turkey has always supported Azerbaijan. Today we celebrate this holiday together. We believe that this brotherhood will live forever. After the Memorandum of Understanding is signed, the relations between our organizations will be strengthened.”

It should be noted that the Memorandum of Understanding, which covers a three-year action plan, identifies areas for cooperation in studying the experience of Turkey in the field of mandatory health insurance. According to the document, the fields such as management, planning and financing of the mandatory health insurance system, and improvement of the legislation on mandatory health insurance will prevail within the framework of cooperation.
