A scientific and practical conference on “Mandatory Health Insurance and Socially Significant Diseases” was held in Guba

On September 14, 2019, the II Scientific and Practical Conference on “Mandatory Health Insurance and Socially Significant Diseases” was held in the Guba Region. The aim of the conference was to study new methods of examination and treatment of cardiovascular and digestive tract diseases, regarding which the greatest number of appeals were received and medical service of which require certain capabilities in pilot areas where compulsory health insurance is applied. The head of the Division for Regional Centers of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance, Shukur Eyvazov opened the conference conveying greetings and wishes of the chairman of the agency Mr. Zaur Aliyev for successful event, and spoke on the “Goals and Objectives of Mandatory Health Insurance”.

The head of the department, who spoke about the benefits of the system, said that the use of mandatory health insurance will make medical services accessible for the population and reduce the financial burden associated with health care costs. After the speech, the representative of the Agency answered questions of the conference participants.

The director of the hospital, Konul Alekberov reported on “The application of mandatory health insurance on the example of the Central Hospital of the Mingachevir City” and spoke about the success of the pilot project. He noted that the material and technical facilities and the personnel potential of the hospital were improved after the application of the mandatory health insurance,

The conference was addressed by doctors of various specialties, who reported on the latest innovations in the diagnosis and treatment of hypertension, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular and gastrointestinal diseases, as well as on modern aspects of diagnosis and treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, etc.
