A screening campaign was held on the 100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev's birth

At the initiative of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency), a screening campaign was organized on the 100th anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

The main goal of the campaign was to ensure the early detection of health problems of people in need of special care and to prevent complications over time.

The medical staff of Nizami Medical Center, Children's Polyclinic No. 8, and Ganja City United Hospital were involved in the medical examinations by the Agency. Residents of four children's shelters, one children's rehabilitation center in Baku, two organizations providing support to victims of gender-based violence and women with disabilities in Ganja were examined by a cardiologist, gynecologist, neurologist, therapist, ophthalmologist, pediatrician, and radiologist as part of the campaign. A total of 270 people participated in the screening events.

In Baku, laboratory tests were also conducted to assess the general condition of children's and women's health. According to the results of laboratory tests, vitamin D deficiency was found in some people. Some examination results showed that inpatient examination and treatment was needed. Some of the examined children were diagnosed with phimosis, adenoid hypertrophy and chronic tonsillitis, congenital heart defects, atrial septal defects, heart rhythm disorders, subcutaneous lipoma, and calculous cholecystitis; one woman was diagnosed with a risky pregnancy. These people were referred to relevant operations and treatments with the support of the Agency.

It should be noted that the woman with a high-risk pregnancy was involved in detailed examinations and underwent a caesarean section. The operation was successfully performed despite the risk to the mother and the baby.

According to the examination results, the appropriate patients were provided with prescription drugs and optical glasses free of charge.

In Ganja, people in need of additional examination and treatment were invited to the hospital. Hypertension was the most common disease in most of those examined.

It should be stated that the Agency always treats people from vulnerable groups with special care and considers their need for timely examination and treatment.
