Bank card issued for conducting cashless payments at healthcare facilities

The International Bank of Azerbaijan, which has successfully participated in many large-scale social projects, closely supports the implementation of the mandatory health insurance project started from this year in our country. International Bank of Azerbaijan jointly with the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance issued bank cards to conduct cashless payments at the healthcare facilities where mandatory health insurance has been applying.

These cards will facilitate payment of copays, health service tariffs not included in the Benefit Package and other services at the hospitals. Non-holders of any bank cards may obtain the card free of charge by submitting identity card at the branches and sub branches of International Bank of Azerbaijan in the region where mandatory health insurance is in effect.

As part of the project stemming from the requirements of the Law “On the cashless settlements” obliging healthcare facilities with status of public legal entity for cashless payments, International Bank of Azerbaijan has provided these healthcare facilities with necessary number of POS terminals and self-service kiosks.

After depositing the cash to the provided card at self-service kiosk in hospitals the payment will be made at POS terminal. It is also possible to deposit funds to the card at the branches and sub-braches of the International Bank of Azerbaijan, Cash In ATMs, E-manat and Azericard payment kiosks, as well as using Card to Card function.

In the future card holders will also be able to benefit from other special privileges and additional discounts in health sector. The Chairman of the Board of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance Zaur Aliyev said introduction of these cards is an important novelty in transition of Azerbaijani health system to cashless payments:

“The bank card will enable cashless payments at healthcare facilities. Cashless settlements will increase the transparency of financial operations and improve accountability at healthcare facilities”.

The Chairman of the Board of the International Bank of Azerbaijan Abbas Ibrahimov: These bank cards will make contribution to the successful implementation of mandatory health insurance in our country. In the near future these cards will enable integration to the payment system of some pharmacy stores as well as other sectors related with health infrastructure. In the long run, favorable ecosystem will be created in this area for wider use of cashless payments. These cards will allow citizens to earn cashback rewards on payments. As a result of which they will make some savings because of health services. All these measures will expand the tendency of cashless payments in our country.”
