During April of 2021, more than 1,400,000 medical services were provided to the population of 59 cities and regions under the mandatory health insurance program

According to preliminary reports submitted to the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) by health facilities where mandatory health insurance has been introduced, in April of the current year, 1,476,971 medical services were provided to the population of 59 cities and regions. 683,071 inquiries were received by the medical facilities, units and treatment and diagnostic centers during this period. 1,259,230 medical services were provided on an outpatient basis and 217,741 on an inpatient basis.

We hereby present the following statistics on the medical services provided to the population of the regions during April of the current year:

The top ten cities and regions according to the number of inquiries received by medical facilities per 1000 (thousand) people in April of this year were: Mingachevir city (528), Shirvan city (246), Yevlakh region (204), Ganja city (194), Agdash (192), Gabala (187), Zagatala (186), Goygol (186), Goychay (171) and Khachmaz regions (170).

The top ten health facilities providing the most services were: Mingachevir City Central Hospital (154,448), Ganja United City Hospital (127,124), Khachmaz (75,845), Yevlakh (64,474), Guba (51,627), Agdash (49,849), Zagatala (41,697), Goychay (40,894), Sheki (40,725) and Gusar Regional Central Hospitals (36,487).

The top ten health facilities providing the most outpatient services were: Mingachevir City Central Hospital, Ganja United City Hospital, Khachmaz, Yevlakh, Guba, Zagatala, Agdash, Sheki, Goychay and Beylagan Regional Central Hospitals.

The top ten health facilities providing the most inpatient services were: Ganja United City Hospital, Mingachevir City Central Hospital, Khachmaz, Guba, Agdash, Gobustan, Gusar, Barda, Shirvan and Yevlakh Regional Central Hospitals.

The majority of inquiries received by the medical facilities were related to medical examinations (including examinations of conscripts), circulatory system issues, endocrine system diseases, metabolic and nutritional disorders, urogenital problems, digestive issues, respiratory system diseases, musculoskeletal system diseases, diseases of connective tissue, as well as obstetrics and gynecology, nervous system diseases, diseases of the eye and the additional apparatus of the eye.

It should be noted that according to preliminary estimates, during January to March of 2021, 1,243 people, 53 of whom were children, were sent to medical facilities operating on a contractual basis for operations that could not be carried out in the public healthcare facilities, as well as operations requiring special medical equipment and supplies. The majority of operations were in cardiovascular surgery (753), ophthalmology (165), neurosurgery (110), urology (106) and traumatology (87). The number of cardiovascular surgery operations carried out on children was 37. It should be noted that medical facilities continue with the registration and processing of information in the electronic register regarding surgical operations.

The number of medical services provided by Regional Medical Divisions (RMDs) during April of 202, is as follows:

Barda-Yevlakh RMD (323,061), Guba-Khachmaz RMD (208,460), Sheki-Zagatala RMD (200,690), Ganja RMD (186,959), Goychay-Kurdamir RMD (110,076), Mountainous Shirvan RMD (103,678), Shamkir-Tovuz RMD (98,691), Agdam-Agjabadi RMD (79,652), Imishli-Sabirabad RMD (66,910), Lankaran RMD (54,310) and Jalilabad-Salyan RMD (44,484).

According to the official information as of 01.01.2020, the total population registered in the 59 administrative regional divisions where the mandatory health insurance has been applied is 6,577,600.

It should be noted that a total 557,152 people in the country were provided with medical services in April of the current year.
