During April of 2021, more than 507,000 medical services were provided to the population of Baku, Sumgayit cities and the Absheron district

From April 1, 2021, persons officially registered in Baku and Sumgayit cities and Absheron district, started to benefit from the Benefit Package of the mandatory health insurance program. According to preliminary reports submitted to the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) by the health facilities where the mandatory health insurance has been introduced, in April of the current year, 507,000 medical services were provided to the population of Baku and Sumgayit cities and the Absheron district. A total of 283,312 inquiries were received by the medical facilities, units and treatment and diagnostic centers during this period. 274,519 medical services were provided on an outpatient basis and 8793 on an inpatient basis.

The top ten districts of Baku city according to the number of inquiries received by medical facilities per 1000 (thousand) people were: Pirallahy (237), Narimanov (200), Yasamal (198), Sabunchy (183), Nasimi (129), Khazar (124), Surakhany (97), Sabail (80), Binagady (48) and Khatai (42).

The number of inquiries received by medical facilities per 1000 (thousand) people in Sumgayit city was 84, and 25 in the Absheron district. The top ten health facilities providing the most services were: Republican Clinical Hospital (67,332), Clinical Medical Center (61,104), City Clinical Hospital No. 5 (50,949), Sumgayit Medical Center (45,538), City Clinical Hospital No. 3 (33,560), Scientific-Research Institute of Pediatrics named after K.Farajova (26,405), United City Hospital No. 6 named after A.D.Malikov (23,418), United City Hospital No. 26 (12,464), Scientific-Research Institute of Cardiology named after Academician J.M.Abdullayev (11,825) and Children Polyclinic No. 13 (8,693). 

The top ten health facilities providing the most outpatient services were: Republican Clinical Hospital, City Clinical Hospital No. 5, Sumgayit Medical Center, City Clinical Hospital No. 3, Scientific-Research Institute of Pediatrics named after K.Farajova, United City Hospital No. 6 named after A.D.Malikov, Clinical Medical Center, United City Hospital No 26, Scientific-Research Institute of Cardiology named after Academician J.M.Abdullayev and Children's Polyclinic No. 13.

The top ten health facilities providing the most inpatient services were: Clinical Medical Center, Republican Clinical Hospital, City Clinical Hospital No. 5, Scientific-Research Institute of Pediatrics named after K.Farajova, United City Hospital No. 6 named after A.D.Malikov, Sumgayit Medical Center, Republican Perinatal Center, Scientific Surgery Center named after M.A.Topchubashov, City Clinical Hospital No. 2 named after M.A.Efendiyev and Scientific-Research Institute of Cardiology named after Academician J.M.Abdullayev. 

The majority of inquiries received by the medical facilities were related to medical examinations (including examinations of conscripts), the circulatory system, endocrine system diseases, metabolic and nutritional disorders, urogenital issues, digestive problems, respiratory system diseases, musculoskeletal system diseases, diseases of connective tissue, as well as obstetrics and gynecology, nervous system diseases, diseases of the eye and the additional apparatus of the eye. 

452,540 medical services were provided by the Regional Medical Divisions (RMD) of Baku city and 54,460 medical services were provided by Sumgayit RMD during April of 2021. According to the official information as of 01.01.2020, the total population registered in Baku and Sumgayit RMDs was 3,047,000.  
It should be noted that a total 557,152 people in the country were provided with medical services in April of the current year.
