During June of 2021 more than 1,300,000 medical services were provided to the population of 58 cities and regions

According to the preliminary reports submitted to the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) by health care facilities that apply mandatory health insurance, in June of the current year, 1,304,300 medical services were provided to 347,646 citizens in 58 cities and regions. During this period 586,443 inquiries were received by the medical facilities, their operational units and treatment and diagnostic centers.  Based on the inquiries 1,134,721 medical services were provided on an outpatient basis and 169,579 on an inpatient basis.

We hereby present the following statistics on the medical services provided to the population of those regions during June of the current year:

The top ten cities and regions according to the number of inquiries received by medical facilities per 1000 (thousand) people: Mingachevir city (444), Shirvan city (199), Agdash (172), Yevlakh region (180), Ganja city (158), Gakh (158), Gabala (153), Beylagan (152), Goygol (148), Shabran (148).

The top ten health facilities providing the most services: Mingachevir City Central Hospital (140,371), Ganja United City Hospital (109,788), regional central hospitals of Khachmaz (64,069), Yevlakh (56,734), Guba (40,670), Barda (38,103), Sheki (36,940), Goychay (35,844), Agdash (35,240) and Siyazan Treatment and Diagnostics Center (34,101).

The top ten health facilities providing the most outpatient services were: Mingachevir City Central Hospital, Ganja United City Hospital, the Regional Central Hospitals of Khachmaz, Yevlakh, Guba, Barda, Siyazan Treatment and Diagnostics Center, and the Regional Central Hospitals of Sheki, Agdash and Goychay.

The top ten health facilities providing the most inpatient services were: Ganja United City Hospital, Mingachevir City Central Hospital, the Regional Central Hospitals of Khachmaz, Gusar, Shirvan City Central Hospital, the Regional Central Hospitals of Sheki, Goychay, Barda, Guba and Salyan.

The majority of inquiries received by the medical facilities of 58 cities and regions were related to medical examinations (including examinations of conscripts), cardiovascular system, endocrine system diseases, metabolic and nutritional disorders, urogenital issues, digestive issues, respiratory system diseases, musculoskeletal system diseases, diseases of the connective tissue, diseases of the eye and the auxiliary apparatus of the eye, as well as traumas, poisoning, and problems with obstetrics and gynecology.

According to the number of medical services provided by the regional medical divisions (RMDs) during June of 2021, the order is as follows (detailed information on RMDs is provided in the following link):

Barda-Yevlakh RMD (287,376), Guba-Khachmaz RMD (199,039), Sheki-Zagatala RMD (170,949), Ganja RMD (166,986), Shamkir-Tovuz RMD (89,021), Goychay-Kurdamir RMD (88,957), Mountainous Shirvan RMD (82,028), Agdam-Agjabadi RMD (76,720), Imishli-Sabirabad RMD (59,578), Lankaran RMD (48,324) and Jalilabad-Salyan RMD (35,322). 

According to the official information, as of 01.01.2020 the population registered in the 58 administrative territorial units where mandatory health insurance has been applied is 6,560,500.

It should be noted that a total of 2,076,467 medical services were provided to 592,990 people out of 1,004,000 inquiries in June of the current year. Upon inquiries 1,756,245 medical services were provided on an outpatient basis and 320,222 on an inpatient basis. 

According to preliminary estimates, during January-April of 2021, 2,444 people were sent to medical facilities operating on a contractual basis for operations that could not be carried out in state health facilities, as well as for operations requiring special medical equipment and supplies. 102 of those persons were children. The majority of operations were in cardiovascular surgery (1,467), ophthalmology (357), urology (251), neurosurgery (185), traumatology (125) and other surgical operations (59). 66 of the patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery were under 18 years of age. It should be noted that medical facilities continue with the registration and processing of information in the electronic register regarding surgical operations.
