During June of 2021, more than 772,000 medical services were provided to the population of the regional divisions of Baku and Sumgayit

According to the preliminary reports submitted to the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) by health facilities where mandatory health insurance is introduced, during June of current year a total of 772 167 medical services were provided to the population of Baku and Sumgayit cities. 219 294 services were provided on Baku RMD (regional medical division) and 36 752 services were provided on Sumgayit RMD (detailed information on RMD can be found in the link). During this period 417 557 inquiries were received by the medical facilities, their structural units and treatment and diagnostic centers. 621 524 medical services were provided on an outpatient basis and 150 643 on an inpatient basis.Here are some statistics on the medical services provided to the population in June of current year:

The top ten districts of Baku city according to the number of inquiries received by medical facilities per 1000 (thousand) people: Narimanov (302), Yasamal (266), Sabunchy (249), Pirallahy (230), Khazar (180), Nasimi (163), Sabail (155), Surakhany (129), Khatai (85) and Binagady (61).

The number of inquiries received by medical facilities per 1000 (thousand) people in Sumgayit city was 94.

The top ten health facilities providing the most services1: Sumgayit Medical Center (97 417), Republican Clinical Hospital named after Academician M.A.Mirgasimov (86 608), City Clinical Hospital No. 5 (65 773), City Clinical Hospital No. 3 (48 419), Scientific-Research Institute of Pediatrics named after K.Farajova (41 776), Clinical Medical Center (40 127), United City Hospital No. 6 named after A.D.Malikov (24 711), United City Hospital No. 26 (18 898), Scientific-Research Institute of Cardiology named after Academician J.M.Abdullayev (17 618) and Children Polyclinic No. 13 (12 813).

The top ten health facilities providing the most outpatient services: Sumgayit Medical Center, Republican Clinical Hospital named after Academician M.A.Mirgasimov, City Clinical Hospital No. 5, City Clinical Hospital No. 3, Scientific-Research Institute of Pediatrics named after K.Farajova, Clinical Medical Center, United City Hospital No. 6 named after A.D.Malikov, Scientific-Research Institute of Cardiology named after Academician J.M.Abdullayev, Children's Polyclinic No. 13 and United City Hospital No 26.

The top ten health facilities providing the most inpatient services: Republican Clinical Hospital named after Academician M.A.Mirgasimov, Sumgayit Medical Center, Scientific-Research Institute of Pediatrics named after K.Farajova, Clinical Medical Center, City Clinical Hospital No. 5, United City Hospital No. 6 named after A.D.Malikov, City Clinical Hospital No. 3, United City Hospital No 26, City Clinical Hospital No. 2 named after M.A.Efendiyev and Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics.

The majority of inquiries received by the medical facilities on RMDs of Baku and Sumgayit cities were related to medical examinations (including examinations of conscripts), diseases of the cardivascular system, endocrine system, metabolic and nutritional disorders, musculoskeletal system diseases, diseases of connective tissue, digestive problems, respiratory system diseases, diseases of the eye and the auxiliary apparatus of the eye, nervous system diseases, urogenital disorders , as well as problems of obstetrics and gynecology.

666 811 medical services were provided by  Baku RMD and 105 356 medical services were provided by Sumgayit RMD during June of 2021.

According to the official information as of 01.01.2020, the total population registered in Baku and Sumgayit RMDs was 3047000.  

It should be noted that a total 2 076 467 medical services were provided to 592 990 people on 1 004 000 inquiries across the country in June of the current year. Based on inquiries 1756245 medical services were provided on an outpatient basis and 320222 on an inpatient. 

According to preliminary estimates, during January-April of 2021 year, 2 444 people were sent to medical facilities operating on a contractual basis for operations that cannot be carried out in state health facilities, as well as operations requiring special medical equipment and supplies. 102 of those persons were children. The majority of operations consist in cardiovascular surgery (1467), ophthalmology (357), neurosurgery (185), urology (251), traumatology (125) and other surgical operations (59).

66 of the patients undergoing cardiovascular surgery were under 18 years of age. It should be noted that medical facilities continue with the registration and processing of information in the electronic register regarding surgical operations.

 

 

1Note: As a result of structural reforms, 11 medical centers in Baku and 1 medical center in Sumgayit have been established on the basis of multidisciplinary inpatient and specialized polyclinic services in Baku and Sumgayit since May (excluding Zangilan and Gubadli District Central Hospitals).
