During May of 2021 more than 1,200,000 medical services were provided for the population of 59 cities and regions under the mandatory health insurance scheme

According to the preliminary reports submitted to the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) by healthcare facilities where mandatory health insurance has been introduced, in May of the current year, 1,270,070 medical services were provided to the population of 59 cities and regions. 547,264 inquiries were received by the medical facilities, their operating units and treatment and diagnostic centers during this period. 1,086,784 medical services were provided on an outpatient basis and 183,286 on an inpatient basis.

We hereby present the following statistics on the medical services provided to the population of the regions during May of the current year:

The top ten cities and regions according to the number of inquiries received by medical facilities per 1000 (thousand) people were: Mingachevir city (428), Shirvan city (204), Agdash (159), Yevlakh region (159), Gabala (155), Ganja city (144), Beylagan (143), Goygol (141), Zagatala (141), Shabran (136).

The top ten health facilities providing the most services were: Mingachevir City Central Hospital (134,326), Ganja United City Hospital (109,403), Khachmaz (62,870), Yevlakh (49,732), Guba (41,594), Agdash (32,278), Sheki (37,263), Goychay (35,630), Zagatala (34,639) and Gusar Regional Central Hospitals (32,128).

The top ten health facilities providing the most outpatient services were: Mingachevir City Central Hospital, Ganja United City Hospital, Khachmaz, Yevlakh, Sheki, Guba, Zagatala, Agdash, Goychay and Beylagan Regional Central Hospitals.

The top ten health facilities providing the most inpatient services were: Ganja United City Hospital, Mingachevir City Central Hospital, Khachmaz, Guba, Agdash, Gusar, Salyan, Barda Regional Central Hospitals, Shirvan City Central Hospital and Goychay Regional Central Hospital.

Based on the number of medical services provided by Regional Medical Divisions (RMDs) during May of 2021, the order is as follows (detailed information on RMDs is provided in the following link):

Barda-Yevlakh RMD (263,979), Guba-Khachmaz RMD (176,998), Sheki-Zagatala RMD (170,166), Ganja RMD (163,691), Goychay-Kurdamir RMD (91,483), Mountainous Shirvan RMD (91,318), Shamkir-Tovuz RMD (88,566), Agdam-Agjabadi RMD (77,038), Imishli-Sabirabad RMD (60,585), Lankaran RMD (46,329) and Jalilabad-Salyan RMD (38,679).

According to the official information as of 01.01.2020, the population registered in the 59 administrative regional divisions where mandatory health insurance has been applied was 6,577,600.

It should be noted that a total 539,865 people in the country were provided with medical services in May of the current year.

Most inquiries received by medical facilities were related to medical examinations (including examinations of conscripts), circulatory systems, endocrine system diseases, metabolic and nutritional disorders, urogenital issues, digestive problems, respiratory system diseases, musculoskeletal system diseases, diseases of the connective tissue, as well as obstetrics and gynecology, traumas, poisoning and nervous system diseases.

From January to May of 2021, 1,637,752 people applied to medical facilities and received 7,158,060 medical services during this period. 6,012,770 services (84%) were provided to patients aged over 18 and 1,145,290 services (16%) were provided to patients aged under 18.
