During the first six months of 2022, about 18.3 million medical services were provided under mandatory health insurance

The State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance presents statistics on the medical services provided to citizens in the health facilities controlled by TABIB under mandatory health insurance from January to June of 2022.

During the first six months of the current year, 2,803,677 people applied to state health facilities 8,123,770 times. The number of medical services provided to citizens was 18,280,623. Of the medical services, 83% were provided in outpatient settings and 17% in inpatient settings. Of the patients, 31% were children and 69% were adults.

Patients' requests were mainly related to general medical examinations, diseases of the endocrine, circulatory, respiratory, bone, and muscle systems and of connective tissue, as well as diseases of the digestive and genitourinary systems, the eye and auxiliary apparatus, and the nervous system, as well as problems of obstetrics and gynecology.

Medical statistics for the city of Baku

During the first six months of this year, 1,144,429 people applied 3,221,354 times to state health facilities in Baku. The number of medical services provided to citizens was 7,068,108. 40% of the total applications (requests) across the country and 39% of the provided medical services were recorded in the city of Baku.

The top ten health facilities that provided the most services were Baku General Health Center, Clinical Medical Center, Narimanov Medical Center, Republican Clinical Hospital named after academician M.A.Mirgasimov, Sabunchu Medical Center, Scientific Research Pediatric Institute named after K.Y.Farajova, Binagadi Medical Center, Khazar Medical Center, Scientific-Research Institute of Cardiology named after academician J.M.Abdullayev, and Scientific-Surgical Center named after M.A.Topchubashov.

Medical statistics for 63 cities and districts

During the first six months of this year, 1,777,642 people applied 4,902,416 times to state health facilities in 63 cities and districts, excluding Baku. The number of medical services provided to citizens was 11,212,515. 60% of the total inquiries across the country and 61% of the provided medical services were recorded in the regions.

The top ten health facilities that provided the most services were Sumgayit Medical Center, Ganja City United Hospital, Mingachevir City Central Hospital, and central hospitals of the Barda, Khachmaz, Yevlakh, Guba, Balakan, Absheron, and Gabala districts.

Services provided in private medical facilities under mandatory health insurance

From January to May of 2022, citizens who received referrals to private medical facilities for operations and services that could not be performed in state medical facilities under TABIB benefited from 22,168 medical services. Of these services, 485 were provided to children and 21,683 to adults.

Of the aforementioned medical services, 7,156 are related to ophthalmological operations, 6,306 are invasive radiology services, 5,236 are cardiovascular surgeries, 959 are related to urology, 922 to neurosurgery, 278 to traumatology, 221 to general surgery, and 131 to otorhinolaryngology, with 54 services performed in gynecology and obstetrics. There were 283 operations performed in other areas. The numbers of performed cochlear implantation and endoprosthesis operations were 65 and 557, respectively. It should be noted that the provision of medical services by contracted medical facilities upon referral forms and their registration in the electronic registry continues for January to May of the current year.
