INFORMATION from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance and Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions
In accordance with the "Vaccination Strategy against COVID-19 in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2021-2022 years", the process of vaccination continues in the country.
From May 3, it will be possible to use the Vaxzevria vaccine (manufacturer AstraZeneca), produced by the University of Oxford, in the United Kingdom, to vaccinate people aged 60 and older against COVID-19. The Vaxzevria vaccine will be used in 6 regions - Lankaran, Sheki, Ganja, Mingachevir, Absheron and Sumgayit. Special rooms will be in service in medical facilities for the application of this vaccine.
84,000 doses of the Vaxzevria vaccine have been delivered to our country within the COVAX platform to improve the choices of people and ensure the access of citizens to various vaccines.
It should be stated, that the Vaxzevria vaccine, developed by the Anglo-Swedish company AstraZeneca, has been approved by the World Health Organization.
