Korean government donates medical devices to our country

On April 11, 2023, medical devices were donated to the Republican Clinical Hospital, named after academician M.A. Mirgasimov, under TABIB within the framework of the "Support to the healthcare sector" project implemented between the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance and the Azerbaijan Representation of Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The devices (inhalation device, digital ear thermometer, glucometer, etc.) donated to the pediatric department of the hospital with the financial support of KOICA Azerbaijani Alumni Association (KOAZ), aim to improve the quality of medical services provided to children.

The presentation ceremony was attended by Elviz Gasimov, Director of the Republican Clinical Hospital, Moon Jong Hyun, Director of KOICA Azerbaijan Representation, Ruslan Abdullayev, Head of the International Relations Department of the Agency and Yagut Garayeva, Head of the Strategic Development Department of TABIB.

Elviz Gasimov, Director of the Republican Clinical Hospital, who delivered the opening speech, expressed his gratitude to the Korean government: "The care provided by the Korean government for the development of healthcare in our country and the protection of the population's health is commendable. The donated equipment will help provide timely, quality medical services to children in outpatient and inpatient settings."

Then, Moon Jong Hyun, the Director of KOICA Azerbaijan Representation, made a speech in which he expressed his satisfaction with the effective cooperation with healthcare institutions in Azerbaijan. It was noted that the purpose of the memorandum of understanding signed between the Agency and KOICA under this project ensures the quality and availability of medical services in Azerbaijan.

Finally, Yagut Garayeva, the Head of the Strategic Development Department of TABIB, expressed her gratitude to the Korean government for the support in improving the supply base of medical facilities and expressed confidence that effective cooperation will be continued.

In the second part of the event, a training session was held for the purpose of improving the knowledge of the medical staff of the Republican Clinical Hospital on infectious diseases and studying the Korean experience in this field. During the training, presentations were made on the topics of "Prevention of infectious diseases in Azerbaijan" and "Activities related to infection control and prevention of infections in the country," and experiences were exchanged.
