More than 1 million medical services were provided under mandatory health insurance during February of 2021 year

According to the preliminary reports submitted to the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) by the central hospitals and their structural units, as well as Medical Diagnostic Centers operating in 59 administrative territories where mandatory health insurance is applied, a total of 335,561 people applied to these health facilities with a total of 560,464 inquiries. 1,214,418 medical services were provided relating to these inquiries. 1,045,155 medical services were provided as outpatient treatments and 169,263 as inpatient treatments. In comparison with January, the number of persons who applied to health facilities in February increased by 25%.

Top ten cities and regions with the highest number of requests received by health facilities per 1000 (thousand) people during February of the current year: Mingachevir city (449), Shirvan city (234), Zagatala region (176), Yevlakh region (169), Ganja city (164), Gabala (158), Agdash (152), Gakh (143), Goygol (143) and Khachmaz (135) regions. 

Top ten medical facilities providing the most services: Mingachevir City Central Hospital (137,628), Ganja United City Hospital (103,800), Khachmaz (58,725), Yevlakh (58,631), Sheki (40,562), Guba (39,803), Zagatala (37,327), Agdash (35,396), Goychay (34,520) and Gusar (33,084) Regional Central Hospitals.
Top ten medical facilities providing the most outpatient services: Mingachevir City Central Hospital, Ganja United City Hospital, Yevlakh, Khachmaz, Sheki, Guba, Zagatala, Agdash, Goychay and Ismayilli Regional Central Hospitals.

Top ten medical facilities providing the most inpatient services: Ganja United City Hospital, Mingachevir City Central Hospital, Khachmaz Regional Central Hospital, Gusar Regional Central Hospital, Shirvan city Central Hospital, Barda, Sheki, Guba, Salyan and Goygol Regional Central Hospitals.

Most of the inquiries were related to general medical examinations (including examinations of conscripts), as well as disorders of the circulatory system, endocrine diseases, metabolic diseases and nutritional disorders, diseases of the digestive system, urogenital system, respiratory system, musculoskeletal system and connecting tissue, diseases of the eye and auxiliary eye systems, nervous system diseases, problems related to obstetrics and gynecology. 

It should be noted that in order to ensure the efficient use of resources and staff of medical facilities subordinated to the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions by the Agency, and to optimize their activities and ensure access for the population to various types of medical care, Regional Medical Divisions (RMDs) were established within the administrative units of the country. At present, the implementation of mandatory health insurance covers 11 RMDs and Khizi region, which is controlled by Sumgayit RMD. 

The list of medical services provided by RMDs in February 2021 according to the number of services is as follows: Barda-Yevlakh RMD (267,838), Sheki-Zagatala RMD (195,528), Guba-Khachmaz RMD (169,896), Ganja RMD (141,584), Mountainous Shirvan RMD (91,947), Goychay-Kurdamir RMD (90,059), Shamkir-Tovuz RMD (62,824), Imishli-Sabirabad RMD (60,669), Agdam-Agjabadi RMD (55,190), Lankaran RMD (44,322), Jalilabad-Salyan RMD (33,191) and Sumgayit RMD (1,370)

According to the official information as of 01.01.2020, the numbers of the population registered in the 59 administrative territorial units where mandatory health insurance has been introduced, was 6,577,600. It should be noted that, persons registered in Baku and Sumgayit cities and Absheron district will use the Benefit Package of the mandatory health insurance from April 1, 2021.
