Over 17.1 million manats in temporary allowances and bonuses were paid to the staff involved in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in January and February 2022

In accordance with the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as the relevant resolutions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) has paid temporary allowances of more than 14.2 million manats to medical workers and about 2.9 million manats to non-medical workers involved in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection in January and February 2022. The payments were made in proportion to the working time/hours.

According to the relevant order of the Cabinet of Ministers, medical workers of private healthcare facilities involved in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection were paid temporary allowances of 7855.85 manats in proportion to the working time/hours for January and February months of the current year. All salary deductions payable by the employees will be calculated from the final amount.

Volunteers were paid bonus payment in the amount of 1000 manats in total, monthly 250 manats per person, for January and February months. Salary deductions from this amount are not calculated.

The total amounts in temporary allowances and bonuses paid to medical and non-medical staff, as well as volunteers, for the above-mentioned months are shown below:

It should be noted that, the Agency continues payment of temporary allowances for January and February in accordance with the registers submitted by public and private medical facilities.

According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 121, dated April 2, 2022, the payment of temporary allowances to the salaries of medical workers involved in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection has been extended until May 1, 2022.
