Statement of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance

The State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance has established a commission for investigation of incident that occurred with Ismayilov Imamverdi Sakhavat, resident of Mingachevir city on June 28, 2019.

On June 26 and 27 deceased’s son born in 2015 was brought to the emergency unit of the hospital with a high fever. The patient was diagnosed with an upper respiratory tract infection. As there was no need in inpatient treatment after providing primary care the child was discharged. The child’s parents were given necessary advice and told the state of the child is normal.

He was again brought to the emergency unit of the hospital with a temperature of 37.7 °C on June 28 at 00:31. He was provided with primary health care and the above-mentioned diagnosis was once again confirmed. No life-threatening situation has been identified for the child.

A criminal proceeding has been initiated in regard to the incident under the Criminal Code. Jafarov Elkhan, the doctor who provided medical care to the son of the deceased was suspended from duty during investigation.

The management of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance and Mingachevir City Central Hospital express their deep condolences to the family and relatives of Imamverdi Ismayilov who committed suicide in the yard of hospital.
