The Agency has paid out 18,300,000 Manat in temporary allowances for January to staff involved in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic

In accordance with Decree No. 1947 of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated March 18, 2020, and Resolution No. 442 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan, dated November 05, 2020, the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) has paid temporary allowances for the month of January to medical and non-medical workers, who were involved in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). 

13,136 medical workers and 2,905 non-medical workers were paid temporary allowances together 18,300,000 Manat in proportion to their working hours/working time.

Temporary allowances were paid to medical and non-medical staff at 33 public health facilities in Baku and 78 in other cities and regions of the country. In accordance with the resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers, temporary allowances were paid to employees of public health facilities for working conditions in connection with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, proportionally to their working hours as follows:

1. 2,100,000 Manat, i.e., an amount totaling 3 times the monthly salary of 2,537 medical workers carrying out preventive medical work was paid.

The calculation formula was proportional to the working days/hours during the month: temporary allowance = (Base salary according to the Single Tariff Schedule / number of working days or working hours during a month) x number of days worked by employee x the multiplication factor of the allowance amount.

2. A total of 4,100,000 Manat was paid to 3,383 medical workers providing emergency medical services, as well as 461 laboratory workers engaged in the examination of biological material totaling 4 times the monthly official (base) salary.

3. A total of 10,200,000 Manat was paid to 6,755 medical workers providing inpatient medical services totaling 5 times the monthly official (base) salary.
It should be stated that 2,905 non-medical workers were paid an allowance of 1,900,000 Manat totaling 3 to 5 times their salary. It was stated that all salary deductions payable by the employee will be adjusted from the final amount.

According to Resolution No 112 of the Cabinet of Ministers, dated March 25, 2020, and the Order issued by the Cabinet of Ministers on April 1, 2020, a total of 11,200 Manat in bonuses were paid to volunteers involved in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection for January, at a monthly figure of 250 Manat per person. Salary deductions are not taken from this amount.  

In accordance with the lists provided by the public medical facilities, payment of temporary allowances by the Agency for February continues.
