Persons and their relatives entering Azerbaijani territory from the Islamic Republic of Iran and taken to quarantine facilities, in some cases severely disrupt public order, showed resistance to medical personnel and impede the examination under normal conditions.

The Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers has commissioned the law-enforcement forces to prevent such cases in order to ensure implementation of measures under normal conditions that carried out against proliferation of coronavirus threat. In relation to persons who violate the quarantine regime and impede the normal operation of medical staff, appropriate measures in accordance with the requirements of the law will be taken.
Law enforcement forces will continue to maintain public order according to the instruction of Operational Headquarters.

The Operational Headquarters under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan confirms the first case of coronavirus (COVİD - 19) infection in Azerbaijan.

The infected person is a Russian citizen, who showed the primary signs of a disease when crossing the state border from the Islamic Republic of Iran in the direction of Azerbaijan. The Russian citizen was placed in a special box of the hospital. The results of the tests were positive. Currently, the patient’s health is stable.

The hospital has all the necessary equipment and professional medical staff to provide the patient with appropriate therapy, as well as to prevent the spread of infection.

Moreover, appropriate measures are being taken to suppress the spread of the virus and its undesirable consequences. Work is underway to identify the persons with whom the patient had close contact, and to identify the source of infection of the patient, as well as the ways of the infections spread.
