The joint statement of the Ministry of Health, State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance and TABIB

According to recent statistics, the number of people infected with the new strain of coronavirus has increased.

We ask our citizens to the follow the recommendations of public health authorities aimed at reducing the risk of transmission of the virus due to the genetic characteristics of Omicron variant.

If you have symptoms of coronavirus, first contact your polyclinic, family doctor. Family doctor will evaluate your condition and if needed medical worker will be referred to your home address for taking PCR test for COVID-19.

If you tested positive for COVID-19 and have asymptomatic or mild symptoms, it is recommended that you follow the treatment and isolation guidelines at home to protect your family or others from being infected.

• Avoid contact with other members of your household as much as possible;

• Wear masks;

• Regularly wash your hands or use hand sanitizer;

• Regularly ventilate the space you are in with natural airflow;

• Regularly disinfect surfaces in shared spaces;

• Take your body temperature twice a day;

• Drink a lot of water;

• Keep a consistent sleep schedule (Get at least 7 hours of sleep per day);

• When the temperature rises (38 ℃ and above), you can use antipyretics;

• Contact your family doctor at Family Health Center (polyclinic) if a high fever (when >38.5℃ is not reduced with antipyretics) worries you and lasts more than 5 days;

• Do not take any treatment without a doctor's prescription;

• Avoid using medications, intravenous fluids, or other treatment methods on the advice of nurses;

• If necessary, you can take vitamins (Vitamin C and D), painkillers, antipyretics, antitussives, and other symptomatic treatments;

It should be noted that pursuant to the Resolution # 28 of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 22, 2022, the isolation period (quarantine) of persons with "positive" SARS-CoV-2 PCR test results and their identified "close contact" in our country was reduced from 14 to 7 days.

Individuals who have been recovered from COVID-19 and tested positive with a PCR test whose relevant data has been officially registered, can receive "Immunity Certificate” 7 days later from the date of the positive PCR test result.

The certificate is valid for 6 months. After the expiration of this period, the validity of the certificate is extended indefinitely if the person receives first dose of the manufacturer requiring two-dose course of a vaccine in the instructions for use.
