The payment of temporary allowances to medical workers has been extended until October

Temporary allowances will be paid to medical workers involved in the fight against the COVID-19  infection for the months of July, August and September of this year in proportion to their working hours. In this connection, amendments were made to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 112, dated of March 25, 2020, and titled "On payment of temporary allowances to medical workers involved in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection.”

According to the effective resolution, the amount of the temporary allowance for employees of public health facilities for working conditions in connection with the COVID-19 infection is determined as follows:

• Employees providing preventive medical care, in the amount of 3 times the official monthly salary (tariff);

• Medical staff providing emergency medical services, as well as laboratory staff engaged in the examination of biological material, including employees of the Union of Forensic Medical Expertise and Pathological Anatomy, and the Azerbaijan Institute of Food Safety, in the amount of 4 times the monthly salary;

• Employees providing inpatient medical services to patients, in the amount of 5 times the official monthly salary.

It should be noted that, after the state health facilities submit the lists of medical workers involved in the fight against the COVID-19 infection to the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency), the Agency will start payment of temporary allowances for the month of July.

It should be noted that, in accordance with the aforementioned resolution, the Agency has paid a total of 58.3 million manat to medical and non-medical workers involved in the fight against the novel coronavirus infection for the months of March, April, May and June in 2020 in proportion to their working hours. 24,388 medical and non-medical workers involved in the fight against the infection were paid 11.7 million manat in proportion to their working hours for March, and 13,245 medical and non-medical workers involved in the fight against the infection were paid AZN 14.1 million in proportion to their working hours for April. 11,638 medical and non-medical workers  involved in the fight against the infection were paid 14.3 million manat in proportion to their working hours for May, and 14,767 medical and non-medical workers involved in the fight against the infection were paid 18.2 million manat in proportion to their working hours for June.
