The relationship between the Agency and SSA in the field of mandatory health insurance is strengthened

The delegation of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) visited Izmir in accordance with the joint annual work plan of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Social Security Agency (SSA) of the Republic of Turkey.

During the visit in late September, the delegation participated in the conference on the topic "Financing of mandatory health insurance, application of information technologies, expertise and repayment systems."

Speaking at the opening of the conference, Gokhan Tuna Öztürk, head of the SSA’s General Department for Health Insurance, said that the friendly and brotherly relations between the two countries also extends to the spheres of healthcare and medicine, adding that they will always provide the necessary support to our country in this field.

Ruslan Abdullayev, the head of the Agency's international relations department, expressed his belief that the mandatory health insurance system implemented in our country will reach its goals thanks to these mutually beneficial relations with Turkey.

During the three-day conference, representatives of both organizations made presentations on a variety of topics, including "Risk Identification and Classification," "Payment process in healthcare facilities," and "Application of information technologies within the framework of health insurance," among other important subjects.

It should be noted that the current title of the three-year Action Plan signed under the Memorandum of Understanding is "Financing of mandatory health insurance and application of information technologies." During the visit, the delegation received information about the existing legislation, actuarial balances of the organizations, setting of insurance premiums, and introduction of incentive payments. As part of implementation of the Action Plan, proposals will be developed on the improvement of the implementation of mandatory health insurance based on the experiences of Turkey.

It should be stated that, within the framework of the Action Plan, SSA representatives made their first official visit to Azerbaijan on February 8-10, 2022.
