The State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance has brought 41 ambulances, including perinatal ambulances, to the country

In connection with the implementation of mandatory health insurance in the country, the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) has brought to the country a total of 41 ambulances, including 39 new ambulances equipped with modern equipment and two perinatal ambulances.

The perinatal ambulances will be used to transport newborns with pathologies from health facilities where the necessary medical services are not available to the relevant perinatal centers. These vehicles are equipped with all the medical equipment and incubators necessary to provide first, emergency, and urgent medical care to newborns. It should be stated that the new, modern perinatal ambulances brought to the country are innovations for the health system of the country.

The equipment in the interior of 39 of the ambulances allows patients to receive all necessary first, emergency, and urgent medical care, and provides resuscitation, as well. These vehicles have a number of unique features. The ambulances are equipped with a cardiac monitor, three types of stretchers, vacuum tires, climate control to regulate the temperature in the cabin, and a lighting system (delivery to the address), amongst other features.

The vehicles are also compact in size. This allows them to maneuver freely in a traffic jam or in narrow streets. They also use less fuel. Fiat Doblo ambulances are manufactured in the Republic of Turkey.

It should be stated that the ambulances were delivered to the Baku Emergency and Urgent Medical Aid Station (15 units), the Sumgayit City Ambulance Station (10 units), and the Absheron District Emergency Medical Aid Station (7 units). 41 ambulances, including the two perinatal ambulances, are expected to be delivered to the country by the end of this year.
