The statement of the Ministry of Health, State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance and TABIB

World Health Organization (WHO reports that as of today, 11 cases of hepatitis of unknown aetiology in children were detected in Europe and USA.

The epidemiological situation in the country was immediately investigated by the health authorities of the Republic of Azerbaijan. According to the results, no cases of hepatitis virus infection of unknown origin have been detected among children in Azerbaijan.

We bring to the attention of citizens that the situation in the country is being closely monitored and controlled. The public is advised not to panic, but to take preventive measures, particularly to comply with personal hygiene procedures such as frequent handwashing, to avoid contact with sick people (with symptoms of sneezing, coughing, etc), as well as not to touch the eyes, nose or mouth with dirty hands.

We urge parents and other guardians of children to be aware of the hepatitis symptoms and to contact health professionals regarding any concerns.
