Zaur Aliyev met with representatives of the Turkish International Health Services (USHAS)

On November 27, 2019 Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) held a meeting with Cevat Sengul, Chairman of the Turkish International Health Services (USHAS) Inc under the Auspice of the Ministry of Health of Türkiye and Mehmet Ali Kilickaya, General Manager. The meeting was attended by Cengiz Gunesh, Second Secretary of Turkish Embassy in Azerbaijan and Shukur Eyvazov, Head of Division on Work with Regional Centers of Agency.

In his opening address, Zaur Aliyev greeted the guests and stressed that the relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are developing in all areas, including in the health sector. He said that when developing the model of mandatory health insurance in Azerbaijan, the experience of a number of countries, including the Republic of Türkiye was studied. Z. Aliyev informed the guests about the preparation and awareness activities carried out for transition to nationwide introduction of mandatory health insurance next year, positive results of mandatory health insurance implemented in the Mingachevir city, Yevlakh and Aghdash regions as a pilot project.

Cevat Sengul expressed his gratitude for sincere reception and gave information about scope of activities of his organisation. He said the main goal is to make Türkiye one of the world's leading health care providers. In this regard, he underlined that his organization is involved in promotion of healthcare care services  delivered in Türkiye at the international level, supporting the public and private sector's activities in health tourism, coordinating these processes, as well as making proposals to the Ministry of Health on healthcare services compliance with international standards and accreditation criteria.

The assessment of the competitiveness of healthcare services provided within mandatory health insurance system, the promotion of delivered healthcare services and the development of health tourism by means of increasing accessibility to quality medical services was also discussed at the meeting.

At the end of the meeting C.Shengul said he supports the measures taken on introduction of mandatory health insurance in Azerbaijan and expressed his readiness to make any proposals and recommendations in the field of health services.
