A memorandum of understanding was signed between the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance and the Azerbaijan State Economic University

A Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was signed between the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) and the Azerbaijan State Economic University (UNEC).

The Memorandum was signed by Zaur Aliyev, the Chairman of Board of the Agency, and Adalat Muradov, Professor, UNEC Rector, and it supports the expansion of social and economic reforms in the country, including the introduction of mandatory health insurance and cooperation in terms of creating the necessary specializations and training specialists in healthcare management. The memorandum envisages cooperation in carrying out awareness-raising activities, studying foreign experiences, and applying the necessary experience in the country.

According to the document, the parties will cooperate in the field of the economic analysis of medical services, the experiences of post-Soviet countries, and the study of gaps in relevant fields. At the same time, the parties agreed to conduct surveys among the population to update the Benefit Package of mandatory health insurance and to study the level of satisfaction with the medical services provided.

The Memorandum’s activities and research will be carried out jointly by the Agency and the UNEC Health Economy Research Center.
