An event was held called "Heydar Aliyev – the founder of the law on mandatory health insurance"

The State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance has began holding events within the framework of the "Year of Heydar Aliyev." The first event was held called "Heydar Aliyev – the founder of the law on mandatory health insurance."

Zaur Aliyev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance, gave an opening speech at the event, saying that our country is now rapidly developing in the social sphere as a result of the reforms: "Of course, this development path has a beginning. The foundation of the development of the Republic of Azerbaijan was laid by the National Leader of our people, the founder of the independent state of Azerbaijan, outstanding politician and statesman, Heydar Aliyev,”— he said.

Z. Aliyev added that the prominent statesman started to settle the existing problems in the field of healthcare by strengthening the legislative framework: "Thanks to Heydar Aliyev's special attention and care, it was possible to make significant achievements in the field of healthcare development and the protection of health in our country during the period of independence. The laws "On Protection of the Health of the Population," "On Health Insurance," and "On Private Medical Activity" – which define the organizational, legal, and economic basis of the introduction of mandatory health insurance – were adopted during the years of Heydar Aliyev's leadership. As a result of the work carried out by him back then, today under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, a worthy follower of the National Leader, mandatory health insurance is now implemented on the entire territory of our country."

Emil Latifov, an employee of the Agency's Marketing and Events Division, informed the participants of the event about the unique position and role played by Heydar Aliyev in the life of our people and in the history of our independent statehood, going on to speak about the various periods of the National Leader's political activity: "Heydar Aliyev's national ideological values also included the health of people – a healthy future. For this reason, Heydar Aliyev started solving problems in the field of public health protection from the first years of his political power. As a result of this policy, in recent years, the supply  base and infrastructure of all healthcare facilities, medical-scientific and medical-educational institutions of our country have been improved, and their scientific potential has been developed."

At the end, a short film by E. Latifov was screened, dedicated to the Great Leader.
