Delegation of medical specialists from the Republic of Turkey visited the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance

On November 14, 2020, Chairman of the Board of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) Zaur Aliyev met with Selami Kilic, Head of the General Directorate of EU and Foreign Affairs of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye.

The meeting was attended by Serkan Gokkaya, Chief Physician of Gulhane Training and Research Hospital, Emrah Senel, Head of the Pediatrics Center of Ankara City Hospital, Nigar Bayramova, Deputy Chairman of the Agency, Ramin Bayramli, Chairman of the Board of the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions (TABIB), and Shahriyar Fatullayev, Advisor of the Chairman of Board of TABIB.

The purpose of the meeting was to identify what was needed to improve the quality of medical services, and to discuss prospects for future cooperation. Opportunities for cooperation between the medical facilities of Türkiye and Azerbaijan in the organization of hospital management, construction of “model hospitals,” and the carrying out of medical and scientific research were considered.

Selami Kilic thanked the Chairman of the Board of the Agency for the warm welcome. He noted that, 21 medical specialists from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Türkiye have been sent to the Republic of Azerbaijan to work at Clinical Medical Center No. 1. "Doctors educated in Türkiye will also provide support to the organization of the treatment of patients in polytrauma centers operating in state medical facilities controlled by TABIB."

In his turn, Zaur Aliyev thanked Selami Kilic for the medical specialists sent to our country to provide medical services to the wounded servicemen fighting for our lands on the frontline. The Chairman of the Board of the Agency spoke about the reforms implemented in the field of healthcare in our country, the current state of e-health, and more. He stressed that Azerbaijan-Turkey cooperation in the field of healthcare will be further developed.
