During September of 2021, more than 841 000 medical services were provided to the population of the regional divisions of Baku and Sumgayit

According to the preliminary reports submitted to the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) by health facilities where mandatory health insurance is introduced, a total of 841 520 medical services were provided to the population of Baku and Sumgayit cities during September of current year. 184 917 services were provided on Baku RMD (regional medical division) and 42 339 services were provided on Sumgayit RMD (detailed information on RMD can be found in the link). 370 945 inquiries were received by the medical facilities, their structural divisions and treatment and diagnostic centers during this period. 635 550 medical services were provided on an outpatient basis and 205 970 on an inpatient basis.

Here are some statistics on the medical services provided to the population of the abovementioned regional medical divisions in September of current year:

The top ten districts of Baku city according to the number of inquiries received by medical facilities per 1000 (thousand) people: Pirallahy (274), Narimanov (257), Yasamal (216), Sabunchy (168), Nasimi (165), Khazar (157), Sabail (147), Surakhany (107), Khatai (68) and Binagady (59).

The number of inquiries received by medical facilities per 1000 (thousand) people in Sumgayit city was 121.

The top ten health facilities providing the most services1: Sumgayit Medical Center (114 557), the Republican Clinical Hospital named after Academician M.A.Mirgasimov (92 321), Clinical Medical Center (73 456), City Clinical Hospital No. 5 (58 344), City Clinical Hospital No. 3 (53 845), Scientific-Research Institute of Pediatrics named after K.Farajova (45 948), United City Hospital No. 26 (26 193), United City Hospital No. 6 named after A.D.Malikov (26 059), Children's Polyclinic No. 13 (22 021) and Children's Polyclinic No. 15 (21 730).

The top ten health facilities providing the most outpatient services: Sumgayit Medical Center, the Republican Clinical Hospital named after Academician M.A.Mirgasimov, City Clinical Hospital No. 5, City Clinical Hospital No. 3, Clinical Medical Center, Children's Polyclinic No. 13, Children's Polyclinic No. 15, Scientific-Research Institute of Pediatrics named after K.Farajova, United City Hospital No. 6 named after A.D.Malikov, United City Hospital No 26.

The top ten health facilities providing the most inpatient services: Clinical Medical Center, the Republican Clinical Hospital named after Academician M.A.Mirgasimov, Sumgayit Medical Center, Scientific-Research Institute of Pediatrics named after K.Farajova, City Clinical Hospital No. 3, City Clinical Hospital No. 5, United City Hospital No 26, United City Hospital No. 6 named after A.D.Malikov, City Clinical Hospital No. 2 named after M.A.Efendiyev, the Republican Perinatal Center.

The majority of inquiries received by the medical facilities on RMDs of Baku and Sumgayit cities during last month were related to medical examinations (including examinations of conscripts), diseases of the circulatory system, respiratory system diseases, endocrine system, metabolic and nutritional disorders, digestive problems, musculoskeletal system diseases, diseases of connective tissue, urogenital problems, problems of obstetrics and gynecology, traumas and poisoning, nervous system diseases.

715 473 medical services were provided by the Regional Medical Division (RMD) of Baku city and 126 047  medical services were provided by Sumgayit RMD during September of 2021

In addition, 3 480 335 medical services were provided to 904 713 citizens on 1 707 767 inquiries on Baku RMD, and 592 218 medical services were provided to 169 990 citizens on 350 641 inquiries on Sumgayit RMD, where mandatory health insurance was introduced since April of this year.

According to the official information as of 01.01.2020, the total population registered in Baku and Sumgayit RMDs was 3047000.

It should be noted, that a total 2 586 220 medical services were provided to 615 289 people on 995 667 inquiries in September of current year. 2 211 137 medical services were provided on an outpatient basis and 375 083 on an inpatient basis, upon inquiries.

In January- September this year, 3 189 704 people applied to health facilities and received 15 793 776  medical services. Of these services, 12 477 083 (79%) were provided to persons over 18 years of age, and 3 316 693 (21%) to persons under 18 years of age.

 

 


[1] Note: As a result of the structural reforms, 11 medical centers in Baku and 1 medical center in Sumgayit have been established on the basis of multidisciplinary inpatient and specialized polyclinic services in Baku and Sumgayit since May (excluding Zangilan and Gubadli Regional Central Hospitals).
