Holiday festivities for children have been organized in pilot areas with mandatory health insurance

On June 1, the International Day for Protection of Children was celebrated in the pilot areas –Central Hospitals of Mingachevir, Yevlakh and Agdash Districts where mandatory health insurance was applied. In the events which were aimed to entertain children, actors from the Mingachevir State Drama theater and ‘People’ theater named after Bashir Safaroglu performed an interesting programme.

During the events Director of Mingachevir Central Hospital, Konul Alakbarov, Director of Yevlakh Central Hospital, Azer Ismayilov and Director of Aghdash Central Hospital, Nuru Nuruyev shared the achievements with regard to the implementation of mandatory health insurance at the hospitals which they manage, saying that health of children is essential for the state. Hospital directors shared gifts among children who receive inpatient care at the pilot hospitals.

It should be noted that according to the figures provided by State Statistical Committee, 27% (92100 people) of the population of Mingachevir, Yevlakh and Agdash regions (337800 people) is children. After application of mandatory health insurance, children living in pilot areas use medical services which are included in the benefit package without any payment.

The State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance ensured the operation of eight children, who were officially registered in pilot areas and were born with a congenital heart disease.

We would like to bring your attention that the Agency is distributing ‘Child Health Guide’, among parents at the central hospitals in the pilot areas, which contains information on importance of daily hygiene and care for newborns and breastfeeding, breastfeeding techniques and other relevant information.

On the occasion of 1 June – International Day for Protection of Children the agency has released a video on the successful operations of children who were born with congenital heart defects and regained their health.
