Last year, 3 206 servicemen, family members of martyrs and war victims received psychological support

Psychological support was provided to 2 072 servicemen, 715 families of martyrs and 419 war victims who took part in military operations for the territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan in 2021. Psychological support centers established in 8 cities and regions of the country (Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Guba, Shirvan, Aghdam, Sheki and Lankaran). This service was provided in the medical institutions subordinated to the Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) and Ministry of Health. Although specialized psychological support is not included in the mandatory health insurance, nevertheless, psychological support was provided to war veterans and the families of the victims free of charge, considering the importance of maintaining their mental health.

At the same time, 1542 (2) psychological support line of the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance received 290 inquiries from war veterans, family members of martyrs and war victims last year. Necessary measures have been taken to solve the psychological problems of these people and eliminate the consequences of stressful situations.

The centers also provide free psychotropic drugs for the treatment of psychiatric disorders based on an examination. Medicines supplied by the Center of Innovation and Supply of the Ministry of Health can be obtained at institutions where regional psychological support centers operate, or at medical institutions referred by psychologists working here.

It should be noted that, the provision of psychological support to servicemen, family members of martyrs and war victims who took part in military operations for the territorial integrity of the country is carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 8 of January 13, 2009, 2021.
