Training course held in Mingachevir on the topic “Modern approaches to diagnostics and treatment of acute intoxication”

Azerbaijan Association of Toxicologists and Mingachevir City Central Hospital public legal entity organized regional training course on the topic “Modern approaches to diagnostics and treatment of acute intoxication”. The course held in the city of Mingachevir on June 10, 2010 was dedicated to the memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

The training course approved by the Scientific-Medical Council of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan was attended by 120 specialists who work as anesthesiologist-intensivist, toxicologist, ambulance doctor, family practitioner, physician, pediatrician, allergist, narcologist and psychiatrist in Mingachevir, Agdash, Yevlakh, Ganja, Oghuz and Baku.

In the training course, Konul Alakbarov, Ph.D in Medicine, the director of Mingachevir City Central Hospital, Ismayil Afandiyev, Ph.D in Medicine, Associate Professor, the chairman of Azerbaijan Association of Toxicologists, Inci Baghirova gave lectures on the topics of “Epidemiology of acute intoxications in Azerbaijan. Main toxicological syndromes, basics of antidote therapy”, “Diagnosis and treatment of intoxication with venomous animals (snakes, scorpions, latrodectus), poisonous fungi and plants”, “Diagnosis and treatment of intoxication with alcohol, narcotic substances and hallucinogens”, “Diagnosis and treatment of intoxication with carbon dioxide and other toxic gases”, “Diagnosis and treatment of intoxication with caustic fluids and pesticides”.

The specialists who successfully completed the training course earned 7 credit score on Sustainable Medical Educational Program.
