Trainings on " Organization of infection control and prevention" have started for nurses

The State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have jointly organized trainings for nurses on "Organization of infection control and prevention. The trainings are carried out within the framework of the technical assistance project "Regional support to reduce the negative impact of the novel coronavirus - COVID-19 pandemic, as well as potential pandemics related to other infectious diseases.”

The training was organized to improve the knowledge and skills of nurses based on international experience in preventing the spread of infections caused by COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses, and the proper implementation of infection control and prevention measures.

The training was conducted by Mujgan Aydemir, an infection control specialist at Aydin Adnan Menderes University Hospital in Turkey. 30 nurses from public medical facilities in Baku, Sumgayit, Ganja, Sheki, Lankaran and Guba are taking part in the three-week trainings.

The first week of the training, consisting of theoretical and practical parts, is held at the United City Hospital No. 6 named after A.D.Malikov. In the theoretical part, participants will gain knowledge on infection control and prevention, will review the existing in-hospital regulations on infection control protocols. In the practical part, under the supervision of M.Aydemir, the updated rules on infection control will be applied by nurses.

Representatives of ADB, the Agency, the Administration of the Regional Medical Divisions (TABIB) and the hospital will also participate in the training.

In the coming weeks, the trainings will be held at the Scientific Research Pediatric Institute named after K.Y.Farajova and the Scientific Surgery Center named after M.A.Topchubashov.
