During February of 2022 more than 1 million medical services were provided for the population of 63 cities and districts

According to the preliminary reports submitted to the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) by healthcare facilities where mandatory health insurance has been introduced, in February of the current year, 1 822 749 medical services were provided to 493 718 citizens in 63 cities and districts.

Healthcare facilities received 826 335 requests for medical services within one month. This accounts for 63% of the total number of medical services registered across the country, and 62% of requests for medical services. In February, 86% of medical services in the regions were provided on an outpatient basis and 14% on an inpatient basis.

Most doctor’s visit made to healthcare entities were related to medical examinations (including examinations of conscripts), respiratory system diseases, circulatory systems diseases, endocrine system diseases, metabolic and nutritional disorders, urogenital issues, digestive problems, musculoskeletal system diseases, diseases of the connective tissue, diseases of the eye and auxiliary apparatus and certain symptoms, obstetrics and gynecology.

The top ten cities and districts according to the number of requests per 1000 people made to healthcare facilities: Mingachevir, Sumgayit, Balakan, Ganja, Shirvan, Gakh, Yevlakh, Beylagan, Goygol and Goychay.

The top ten healthcare entities providing the most outpatient services were: Ganja United City Hospital, Sumgayit Medical Center, Mingachevir City Central Hospital and Khachmas, Barda, Yevlakh, Qabala, Guba, Balakan and Goychay district central hospitals.

The top ten healthcare entities providing the most inpatient services were: Sumgayit Medical Center, Ganja United City Hospital, Mingachevir City Central Hospital and Guba, Aghdash, Barda, Lankaran, Khachmaz, Sheki, Salyan district central hospitals.

It should be noted that several medical entities were included in the top ten list of healthcare facilities providing both outpatient and inpatient services. They are Ganja United City Hospital, Sumgayit Medical Center, Mingachevir City Central Hospital and Khachmaz, Barda, Quba district central hospitals.

From January to February of 2022, 3 503 224 medical services were delivered to 808 178 persons based on 1 584 670 requests across the country. This accounts for 63% of the total number of registered requests for medical services across the country, and 64% of all medical services in two months.

According to the official information as of 01.01.2021, the population registered in the 63 administrative regional divisions where mandatory health insurance has been introduced is estimated at 7 266 300 persons, while the population registered in all regions amounts to 9 657 600 persons.

From January to February of 2022, 5 465 999 medical services were provided to 1 244 351 citizens. Therefore, 13% of population benefitted from mandatory health insurance during this period.

Based on 2 507 890 requests, 82% of these services were provided on an outpatient basis, 18% on an inpatient basis.  Children accounted for 27% of all those who received these medical services, while 73% were adults.
