Last year more than 116.6 million manats in temporary allowances and bonuses paid to the staff involved in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic

In accordance with the relevant decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan as well as the relevant resolutions and orders of the Cabinet of Ministers, the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance (Agency) has paid temporary allowances of more than 102.4 million manats to medical workers and 14.2 million manats to non-medical workers involved in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection. The payments were made in proportion to the working time/hours.

According to the relevant order of the Cabinet of Ministers, medical workers at private healthcare facilities involved in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection were paid temporary allowances of 50936.79 manats in proportion to the working time/hours in 2021. All salary deductions payable by the employees will be calculated from the final amount. Each volunteer was paid monthly bonus in the amount of 250 manats, 59750.00 manats in total. This amount is not subject to deductions.

It should be noted that, Agency continues the payment of temporary allowances for months of November and December in accordance with the lists submitted by state and private medical entities.

According to the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan No. 50, dated February 22, 2022, the payment of temporary allowances to the salaries of medical workers involved in the fight against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection has been extended until March 1, 2022.
