How to use mandatory health insurance?
Dear citizen!
All citizens of the country can use the medical services included in the mandatory health insurance Benefit Package free of charge. If you need medical services, you may apply to any state medical facility under authority of TABIB with your ID card.
Any necessary medical services are provided by specialty doctors in health facilities. All necessary medical services – including laboratory tests, diagnostic examinations, physiotherapy, outpatient, and inpatient (i.e., hospitalization) care – are provided free of charge.
Use of mandatory health insurance in private health facilities
If it is not possible to provide the necessary medical services in state medical facilities, you will be referred to a private medical facility contracted by the State Agency on Mandatory Health Insurance.
In a private medical facility, with a referral you may receive medical services free of charge under the Benefit Package. If you apply directly to a private medical facility without a referral from a state health facility under authority of TABIB, you will pay for medical services.
Use of mandatory health insurance in urgent and emergency cases
For emergency and urgent medical care, you may directly apply to a private medical facility without a referral. If the medical service provided to you is included in the mandatory health insurance, the cost of the medical service will be paid by the Agency
What is a Benefit Package?
The Benefit Package is a collection of medical services provided to citizens under mandatory health insurance.
